1. Acceptance of terms By installing or using the Triselle mobile application ("Triselle", "the app", "we", "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Eligibility You must be at least 18 years old to use Triselle, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater. Parents or legal guardians who scan baby or pet products on behalf of dependents accept these terms for that use.

3. Information-only nature of the service Triselle is an information service. We surface ingredient data and citations from third-party sources (IARC, REACH, EWG, CosIng, Health Canada, OpenFoodFacts, PetFoodAdvisor, ConsumerLab and others). Triselle does NOT provide medical advice, cosmetic-efficacy claims, dietary prescriptions, pet-care advice, or a diagnosis of any kind.

4. No professional advice The score, flags, and rationales displayed in the app are editorial summaries of published research. They are not a substitute for advice from a licensed physician, pharmacist, veterinarian, dietitian, dermatologist, or any other qualified professional. You agree to consult one before acting on anything you see in Triselle.

5. Accuracy + good-faith research We make a good-faith effort to surface accurate ingredient classifications and link to verifiable citations. We do not warrant that any specific flag, score, or recommendation is free from error, omission, or outdated information. Always open the citation link to read the source yourself.

6. Account, security, your content You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe. Photos you upload are encrypted before transit and stored encrypted at rest on Cloudflare R2 (EU region). You grant Triselle a non-exclusive license to process the photos solely to extract ingredients and deliver the service to you — we do not sell, share, or train models on your images.

7. Subscription, free trial, refunds Free-tier users can scan a limited number of products per rolling 7-day window (currently 3 scans). Pro unlocks unlimited scans, all personalized modes, and additional features. Pro subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends, managed through your App Store / Play Store account. Free trials cancel any time before the trial ends. Refunds follow Apple/Google store policy.

8. Acceptable use You agree NOT to: reverse-engineer the app, scrape our APIs beyond personal use, upload illegal content, use the service to harm any third party, or claim Triselle output as professional advice when communicating with third parties.

9. Disclaimer of warranties The app is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability To the maximum extent permitted by law, Triselle is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Total aggregate liability for any claim is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you have paid Triselle in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) EUR 50.

11. Indemnity You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Triselle, its founders, employees, and contributors against any claim arising from your violation of these terms or your misuse of the service.

12. Dispute resolution + arbitration Disputes are first to be raised by good-faith contact at legal@triselle.app. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes are subject to binding individual arbitration under the rules of the applicable European Arbitration Centre, with the seat in your country of residence. You and Triselle each waive any right to participate in a class action, collective action, or representative proceeding. This clause does not affect non-waivable consumer rights you may have under the laws of your jurisdiction.

13. Governing law These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the country where Triselle is headquartered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

14. Changes We may update these terms when product, regulatory, or security changes require it. We will surface a re-consent screen the next time you open the app after a material update; continued use after acceptance constitutes agreement.
